Mysterious "R" Linked to Woman's Disappearance
Story by Bartholomew Bartolome, published in the local paper, Alitaptap Chronicles - Volume 13 Issue No. 6 - June 20 1995
Filomena, 24, resident of Brgy. Gulod, Alitaptap, was reported missing again, ten days after her first disappearance. Local officials are looking for a certain "R" and his or her possible involvement.
The woman, known mysteriously for having no last name has been missing presumably since June 10, according to Monina Manalastas, 26, friend and neighbor. Manalastas alerted the authorities after not hearing from Filomena for five days, and eventually finding that the door to the latter's home appeared to have been forced open.
Authorities found letters signed only as "R", with mentions of nearby towns, establishments and a certain kapisanan. Sender's identity is still under investigation.
Filomena reportedly vanished on May 31 and reappeared after three days, offering no explanation about her disappearance. She has no known family and has been a resident of Alitaptap for five years, her Gulod barong-barong being her second dwelling since her arrival in town.
Crisanto Casumpang, Mayor of Alitaptap, is appealing to the public for any information that may aid the investigation.
